A NYC Summer



Apparently summer time in New York is the most affordable. There are many free concerts and events at the park including kayaking and fitness classes. Here's our first summer in New York bucket list. Some are free and some are not.


1. The Met Cloud City exhibition --> Done Aug. 12
2. MOMA PS1 Museum --> Decided to skip
3. Shakespeare in the Park --> Done Aug. 8
5. Governor's Island --> Done Aug. 18
6. Yankee Stadium for a game --> Done Aug. 17
7. Hell's Kitchen Flea Market 
8. Met Opera Summer Recital --> Attempted to be done July 25th
11. New York Botanical Garden Monet's Garden Exhibit --> Plan Sept. 29
12. Go to Smorgasburg in Brooklyn --> Done Sept.15
13. Naumburg Orchestra Concert --> Done Aug. 7
14. Kayaking on the Hudson --> Done Sept. 1
15. Broadway at Bryant Park --> Done July 19th
16. Hudson River Movie --> Missed it because I was at girls camp
17. US Open --> Decided to go next year and get better seats than we could have this year
18. Broadway Shows that will be closing:
  • A Streetcar Named Desire (closes July 22) --> Seen July 19th
  • Memphis (closes Aug.5) --> Seen Aug 4
  • Ghost (closes Aug.18) --> Seen July 5th and Aug. 17th
  • End of the Rainbow (closes Aug. 19) --> Seen Aug. 8
  • Sister Act (closes Aug. 26) --> Decided to skip
  • Clybourne Park (closes Sept. 2) --> Decided to skip due to language content
  • Porgy and Bess (closes Sept. 23) --> Done Sept. 20
19. Mets Game --> Done Sept. 22
20. Lots of walks in the park with the doggies
