Black Friday

On Black Friday instead of going out shopping we made breakfast for the family. Eggs, bacon, hash browns, and sausage. Apple and orange juice and chocolate milk.

Then Tyler, Carole, and I headed to the temple. I had never been to the St. George temple and I was very excited to go. This is Tyler's favorite temple.

After our session we headed over to cafe rio... again. :) And got yummy burritos!! Man I miss Cafe Rio.

After we ate we went over to the Tuacahn theater for their festival of lights and to watch their live nativity.

They also had a bonfire, and karaoke.

We went back to the temple and saw their Christmas lights for a little bit, and to pick up Carole's car.

It was a neat day. I just always love going to the temple and especially visiting temples that I normally wouldn't get to see.

A me day

The Saturday after black friday all the boys went golfing and it was the holy war game day.

So I went off on my own. My first stop was the outlet mall. It was a sad outlet mall compared to what we have in Texas. But it was nice to be able to go to DownEast Basics and Shade and actually try their clothes on! I learned that Shade does not fit me well at all, which is sad because I like their clothes online. I also got Bryan's gift since we have him for Christmas this year.

After the mall I headed over to historic St. George. At first I went to Ancestor's Square because I was told there was yummy chinese food there. Well there wasn't. So off I went to walk around the town to see the historic buildings. On main st. I stopped by Bear Paw Cafe for some food, it was not the chinese I was craving, but it was food.

My first stop after eating was a tour of the St. George tabernacle.

I loved the architecture details of the building, and it was nice to be able to sit down and just listen without rushing around. Sister Henry was so sweet, I just loved her.

At the tabernacle I got my little pamphlet for historic downtown walking tour and what to see.

Woodward School

A cute little quilt cottage I ran into on 100 West.

I walked all the way up to the Brigham Young Winter Home, and along the way saw all the homes on 100 West. None of them I could go into.

I just loved all the yellow leaves in St George! And Brigham Young's home was just so pretty. I made it for the last tour!

Ancestor's Square

After it got dark, I headed back to the condo to see if Tyler would come with me to a Christmas concert at the tabernacle that night. The dang game wasn't over so I went by myself again. While I was at the tabernacle, Sister Henry who had given me the tour of the tabernacle earlier saw me and came to sit with me. Afterwards we went to dinner at her favorite place, the electric cafe. Her and her husband were so sweet and I really enjoyed having dinner with them and getting to know them.

After dinner I walked around to see the Christmas lights.

I went back to return a shirt at the outlet mall, and back to the condo. Everyone had gone bowling, but I passed on it.

This was by far my favorite day in St. George. I had such a good time learning all this church history. The Christmas program at the tabernacle was beautiful, and I just felt the spirit all day.

Vegas and Thanksgiving

Tyler and I went to Utah for Thanksgiving. Normally we go to Layton since that's where everyone is, however this time we went to St. George and everyone came down because that's where his grandma lives. We all stayed at condos through Tyler's dad RCI/Worldmark points.

So I worked Monday and Tuesday night. Drove home on Wednesday morning, showered, and off to the Dallas airport. I was so tired, hungry, and grumpy. So we got our traditional Mickey Dee's at the airport.

We flew into Vegas and rented a car to drive to St. George.

Before we left Vegas we stopped and tried the famous In-N-Out burger. Sorry folks but we were not impressed... at all. Our little Big Star Burger on main st. is so much better!

After filling up we headed to St. George. I slept on the plane, and in the car. We got there fairly late at around 3pm. We unpacked, talked to folks, and then everyone went out to eat at Cafe Rio. Oh I love Cafe Rio! I miss it so much in Texas. It took forever to get our order in because the lines were so long. After we ate everyone headed across the street to Nielsens frozen custard. I was feeling a bit nauseated from the lack of sleep/traveling/not eating for a long time combo and skipped on it. Tyler took me home as soon as he was done and I showered and crashed.

The next day was Thanksgiving!

Each family cooked a turkey. I helped Carole, MIL, season it. I believe everyone also made mashed potatoes.

We all headed over to grandma's house to pick her up and take family pictures.

Tyler and I went to walmart and did some grocery shopping, and picked up drinks, plates, and miscellaneous things.

We got back right on time for dinner.

We got pies from Costco and Marie Callenders.

After dinner everyone played games, I napped, then headed back to the condo with every intention to go to bed, but didn't. Tyler came up shortly after and we went back to walmart to shop for our nieces and nephews. It was a good thing we did because it was empty and the only time we had to do it!
