On Sunday we spent the day in Old Montreal. We got off to a late start and slept in. So we headed out after noon. We took the metro down to Old Montreal.
Our first stop was the Basilique Notre-Dame de Montreal. Because it was Sunday we were not able to go in, but just the outside was beautiful. I so wish we had seen the interior.
We had a late lunch at Modavie.
It's a beautiful restaurant, but the food was very disappointing.
Afterwards we stopped by Creperie Chez Suzette for a nutella/strawberry crepe.
We walked around Rue St. Paul for a little while and headed over to the days' main attraction.
We had tickets for Cirque Du Soleil's new show that was opening that weekend called TOTEM.
Montreal is where Cirque du Soleil was started so we were pretty excited to go.
The tent was set up at Vieux Port and we spectacular views from there.
The show was great, very theatrical which I loved, a great reminder of my family heritage on my mom's side being involved and growing up in the circus.
Afterwards we headed back to the streets to peruse around. We somewhat followed this walking tour.

Things close awfully early in Montreal so we were running out of options for dinner, badly. We stopped by this Italian restaurant in Old Montreal before we headed back to our hotel.
We ended up with really yummy food, we then headed back to the hotel via metro again. I wish we, namely me, had woken up earlier to walk around more before everything closed and it got dark. Old Montreal has some really neat art galleries that we were not able to see since they were closed.
We were hoping to go back another day, but we were never able to make it back.
