On our second day in the city we had to wake up super duper early in order to go to the Manhattan LDS temple.
We attended the 7:45am session since the later one was a Spanish session and we got to be the witness couple. The Manhattan temple was lovely, quite small and amazing how the sound barrier works and you can't hear any of the honking in the busy intersection the temple is at.
However, we were dead tired. Our intention was to stop at the hotel and change and go off to explore. But we crashed for way too long. The combination of the flipping to a day schedule, only sleeping for 2 hours before our flight, and waking up at 5:30am to go to the temple proved too much for us. So we took a 3 hour nap. I know.. who goes to NYC and naps!? Apparently we do.
After our nap we headed to Soho and Little Italy.
We put our names down with Lombardi's list and walked around a little bit.
Lombardi's was delicious. We were trying to decide which we liked better between Lombardi's and Grimaldi's but we couldn't. They're both so good.
After we were happy and fed we did some shopping in Soho, looked around some art galleries, went to the cast iron district, and just had fun seeing the buildings in Soho, Noho, Lolita.
After walking around I was ready for a little treat and was excited to get yummy crepes at La Crepe!
We were supposed to walk around Little Italy and Chinatown, but ran out of time due to our little nap. We had to run over to my fancy surprise number two.
Tyler took me to the Lion King!
We had first row, front mezzanine seats.
The show was beautifully done. The masks and puppets are amazing and make it different and interesting. The story was the same as the movie which was nice since the other broadway Disney shows we'd seen things were changed. We did like Mary Poppins better.
After the show we decided to walk around Times Square a bit
We grabbed a little snack before heading to the hotel.
